Re: A reasonable fish on a soft hackle...

Here is a smallish searun of around 2 1/2 lbs from a couple of days ago from the same river but closer to the sea. Another soft hackle victim BTW! He was dinner and the flesh was as orange as a salmon http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd68/matuku/fbd208d9.jpg And the type of fly that took him: I th...

One that is seen down here now and again is a 16 - 12 hook, tail of red hackle fibres, b...

Hmmm. No. Not convinced these are your best work Hans (this and the S'more) :)

The beads just don't do it for me soft hackle wise. Just a personal thing. Other's opinion may differ and thats the way it should be

Re: Spanish Wet Fly Fishing

Most interesting site that Thanks! See how big the heads are on many of their flies. Obviously like 'em like that! Anyone have anything or know of any English language sites on Italian fly fishing? I am after something from Northern Italy specifically relating to their use of wet flies with hackles ...

Re: A reasonable fish on a soft hackle...

No Mike that is definately a "straight" brown. I have never really thought of the Motueka browns being an unusual colouration. They have swum in these waters and the tribs for some 140 odd years so over that time they may have slowly taken on this look. Its a free stone river with some bed...
