Purple Joe

Steelhead

Hook - Allen SS001 or equivalent
Thread - Black
Tail - Red hackle fibers
Body - Hot orange uni yarn
Ribbing - Oval silver tinsel, chenille only
Thorax - Purple chenille
Wing - 2 badger hackles (may be tied splayed outward)
Hackle - Badger

Fish Flies - Volume II - Terry Hellekson

Hook - Mustad 3906B or equivalent, size 4-8
Thread - Black
Tail - Red hackle fibers
Body - Hot orange uni yarn
Thorax - Purple chenille
Wing - 2 badger hackles (may be tied splayed outward)
Hackle - Badger

That’s one I’ve typed as well. I like the idea of the splayed style wings. I’ve only done that a couple times.
