Roadkills "Rootbeer " patterns has made me smile.

I have been using similar colored patterns this Winter with great success. Midge larva, Softhackles and Emergers.

Mostly in sizes 18, but a few in size 20.

Just yesterday in a darn substantial Rocky Mountain snowstorm, the Rootbeer's did well.

If you look closely, you can see. Rootbeer lodged in a Rainbows lip.

Midge Stretch Rib is the material used to tie this pattern. In tan.

Very Nice!

I use Stretch Magic or Power cord for a number of chironomids but I don't have Rootbeer. :)

Oh gosh, those are tiny! Very nicely done.

Love seeing the trout photo too. Congratulations Wayne. Glad to see you getting out, even with the snow.

I'm glad you still have eyes, Wayne; I can't do that any more.
