Caddis season is upon me. As such, Yellow Sh's are the patterns of the day, along with a few others.
I thought I would add peacock instead of Haresear. I threw in a little Needle action as well.

Very nice, Wayne. What size are you tying those?

Thanks Ron. The beaded version is a 14. The Needle version is a 16.

I could make those work very well on the Little Mad; the Aroostook, too, in about a #22, sans bead. Smaller would work even better but I can't tie that small anymore. Stupid small bugs have been getting ALL the attention this summer. I had to give a Griffith's Gnat a serious haircut the other night.

Great looking flies, Wayne. The ribbing on the body makes the whole fly just pop out for me.

Rookie question time. What do you mean by, Needle?

I believe the needle style implies that the hackle is tied behind the thorax/head.

As a follow up, I'm guessing that this will allow the hackle to envelop the body since there is no (material) dam? Used to imitate a caddis pupa in this case?

Very nice flies BTW
