Never tried that myself either, looks really cool though. I originally thought the head was an oval bead but that's an excellent use of thin skin.

I believe the tail and legs are natural emu.

Yes, tail is emu, but he forgot to mention leg material. Something or other, Veli Autti style.

If I were more talented I might try my hand at more realistic patterns. Probably not, I do like hiding behind the fact that I believe strongly in the impressionistic school of design. Saves me from embarrassing myself. This one is very cool. Kudos to the folks with these skills.

I particularly like the method for the wing case. Haven't seen that technique before.
