Shuck's Bead Caddis Larva

Post by ronr » Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:09 pm

Mr. Shuck, as I scrolled through the archives I came across your bead caddis larva. As I have a weakness for small glass beads, I couldn't resist this one. Here's my version. I'm finding that every fly you have shared on the forum appeals to me and I plan to tie them all.

I am pleased and flattered, Ron, that your taste in flies is similar to mine. Your version of the Bead Head Caddis Larva is very nice indeed.

Bill, I'm also blown away by your biot and plover March Brown... working on that dual biot wrap, but that is such a neat idea. Since It's March... they should be here soon..

There is a pool just above the Falls Point Road Bridge on the Selway River where that fly will do wonders. I tied two similar flies and wore them down to bare hooks taking fish from that pool. Nicely dressed fly.
