I still tie and fish a few buckskin patterns and believe the chamois gives the fish something to chew on.
After a few fish, they get stanked and slimed like the real thing

... synthetics don't do that.
The downside is they do not dry well and there will be some rusty hooks but it's a small price.

I dont give them a chance to chew. I set the hook like a bass master before they know what hit them.
