I am using Hares Mask, or Squirrel, or a mixture of both. To be honest, I have done well with out any thing for the thorax. If I were forced to choose, it would be natural Hare.

the version I've stolen from DUBBN is YLI 213, xs gold wire, bob olach's dubbing blend for thorax, partridge hackle, and color the head red with a pismacolor pen. I've used a variety in hooks and 16 and 18 works on my rivers
