Brown swimming nymph..

Post by Johnno » Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:47 pm

I used some of the thinner FTD Rubber for the tail, the body is Turkey quill, with some pale tan Antron applied as per Gary LaFontaine’s double magic technique with a fine rib. Some brown possum at the head with a CDC hackle. It’s lightly weighted to fish to browns cruising edges of pools searching out the insects. I tie it on a size 12 to 14 long shank. Tan thread. I think this one is tied on a T2302..

I smiled when I read “FTD”, surprised that his materials had made it all the way down under. I use a lot of materials from the Mad Scientist.

Well designed nymph, John.

Thx Ray.
Yeh I’ve been using his stuff for 20 odd years. It’s great....
Thx to Doug Swisher I was probably the first in NZ to use the very early materials
