Tis the season. If you aren't fishing sub-surface caddis, you are missing out.

Those look so buggy, they can't miss. Our local stream is in shape and I'm chomping at the bit to get fishing. Unfortunately.y casting arm feels like it's going to fall off, thanks to Pfizer shot number 2. I think I'll spend part of today tying up a few of those.

The water's still pretty cold up here (mid 40's yesterday due to snow runoff from earlier in the week). Fishing slow and deep was the way to go. Hooked up with a nice steelhead early on a white "Frayed Knot" (one of my baitfish patterns), along with some nice plump smallmouth bass fresh from the lake. Sub-surface is definitely the way to go!

Great flies Wayne. I always know your patterns will catch fish, and am grateful that you share them with us. Thanks bud.

The caddis action has been off the charts this week. I have been fishing two rivers. The Gunnison and the Roaring Fork. Both patterns and a few other have been killing it.
