Carl - That will be the next thing I try. The Peacock Herl and Starling Henwing is bound to catch fish! Great idea...

I've got to hand that one to you Ray! Investment wise though a hackle stockpile could top most tool collections.

Excellent tip Ray.. Variant has introduced me to the Glanrose style wings and getting that starling wing to position correctly is the trick. Your SBS's are just terrific, really helps us learners to improve. I had not used the Mitch's bobbin with my Kimono silks. Will be on the vise today. I can be tricky getting the bobbin threaded thought.. Have to have an extra long threader to get through the bobbin.

Nice! Thanks for sharing Ray. I have to say I haven't seen that technique tying in a wing. I like it!

Ray,
I am just flabbergasted with how beautiful (as a result of your impeccable tying skills) and seemingly easy to tie these patterns are! These are next on the hit list of must tie patterns!
I may be ringing your phone if I run into any snags! I like the look and good reviews of the Kimono tying silks! These are added to my ever expanding shopping list as well!
Great stuff Ray & I'm anxious to see the other patterns that Carl and the others have mentioned!
Impressed in the Den,
Dougsden
