Rodger (chase creek) - Actually, this fly is what my swap fly was supposed to look like. I forgot the palmered body hackle on my swap flies. Just didn't realize it until I had them all done. Once the swap was over, I wanted to go back and try the pattern as Leisenring listed it in his book.

Jon (CreationBear) - I did not twist the materials together. All of the ribbing materials (oval tinsel, peacock sword fiber & palmer hackle) are tyed in at the back of the hook. The body of the fly is formed by dubbing the thread and wrapping it forward to create a smooth body. Then I wrapped each of the ribs forward, one by one (tinsel first, peacock sword fiber second, then palmered the hackle third). Each of these materials is secured with one or two (max) wraps of thread to secure it in place. The collar hackle is then wrapped from the hook eye, back to the shoulder of the body (front edge).

Excellent, the tinsel/sword really is a neat effect. :)

Ray, Howdy;

There is a reason that our knees bend to the front and our toes are on the front of our feet ......

So we can't kick ourselves in the arse as hard as we feel we should at times ... ;)

One forces YOU to do the work.....thereby letting gravity work "for" you by keeping your time more steady...............the other allows you to fall victum to rushing because it's "to easy"..................now you tell me which is which. ;)
