More fooling around with dubbing blends. The first is just natural mole and natural beaver from hides. The second is the same blend mixed with some hare mask and cinnamon seal.

Sweet. You are on a roll. Very classy, buggy, neutral. The fish ought to love them. I haven't tied flies in several days now. I have been trying to take advantage of a little cooler weather. I am having tying withdrawel symptoms. This makes me want to throw something together.

Kelly L. is right! These classics should catch fish anywhere! I particularly like the hackles "spread out over the front 1/3 of the fly". You did a very good job in doing this!
Also, the 50/50 mix of dubbings looks very good. It gives a certain wooley look that I like in fly bodies. Good stuff!

Thanks all. I was just telling Bill I have corned the small, very drab fly category. 101 ways to bore a fish to striking. I can't seem to help it. I've got a number of Wayne's muskrat flies, so these might be redundant, but most of my tying is.

Lance...it's touch dubbed with Shuck Wax, looped and spun from the bend and brought forward. I'll be very curious to see if I need to adjust my dubbing blends to achieve a certain effect if I tie them on a dubbing block vs. the dubbing loop dropped and touch dubbed. I need a reason for more greyish brown flymphs.

This one bridges the post between Brahma Hen dyed Golden Straw and the same dubbing blend used in the second fly here. Something about the seal used alone seems a bit much, but this really tones it down.

William - Once again I feel the need to buy a thesaurus. My vocabulary of compliments is no match for your talent. Not even close...

For now, let's just go with "Magnificent flies!"

That last fly was outstanding. LOVE IT.
