Post by tie2fish » Mon Dec 30, 2013 11:22 am

As a result of some requests for a visual SBS covering the hackle shortening technique I have discussed earlier, here is the best I can do ...

Awesome job of putting this together! Thank you! You make it look easy. I have 4-5 partridge skins that have found new life!

Holy Crap. I slip away for a couple days and look what I miss. Bill, this is a fantastic series of flies working out this technique and thanks so much for the SBS. Each of the subtle steps make all the difference. This is really nice. Something I will definitely have to fool around with. Much thanks.

Thanks, Bill. This is exactly what I needed. I was attempting to do this with barbs cut off of the rachis. This is a whole bunch easier.

This should be bookmarked. I've seen it before (when I didn't need it). But when I needed it I could never find out where I'd seen it and had to mickey mouse what I thought I saw. I never did get it exactly correct and the hackle showed that.

This is nice!!!!

Thanks, Bill. Time to dig out those skins with the longer feathers left on them!
Very nicely put together SBS.
