Waterhen Bloa Dry Fly

Post by joaniebo » Mon May 11, 2020 10:23 am

This might be upsetting to some, but I recently saw this Davie McPhail video and thought it to be an interesting twist to tying dry fly versions of some of the North Country Spiders.

Thank you for sharing the link. I am a huge fan of Davy McPhail and his YouTube channel. The guy ties a mean fly!

McPhail never phails to inspire another session at the bench. His techniques are really helpful, I note how he holds onto the tail as he ties it in, the constant re-spinning of the dubbing to keep it tight (or dropping the spin where he wants to thicken it up.)

Great job, NightWatchman! I bet that slays the fish.
I fish wet flies with faith and hope, faith that trout don't require exactitude and hope that when my time comes, God will explain why wet flies work...

Thanks Bocast. I watched that video by Davie and boy those flies looked buggy so I gave it a whirl and I have to say it does look like a killer.
