Just a little freestyle floating nymph while playing around with snowshoe hare's foot. It's such an amazing material that I don't use nearly enough. Let me know what you think....
Tail: phesant tail
Abdomen: same
Rib: fine gold wire
Wing: snowshoe hare
Legs: furnace hen
Collar: pine squirrel in a split thread

T12, I like it a lot, a really buggy looking emerger look using all natural materials. I use snowshoe for some Hendrickson emergers and duns. I think your pattern would work very well for that!
Mike.

It looks big but it's only a standard size 12.
@ronr I'm a big fan and student of cal bird, and polly Rosborough. I really like the quote Bird had when asked about his birds nest why do you put the big scruffy "head" on it making the legs appear behind the thorax and Cal simply said "cuz that's where they belong". Rosborough did the same thing on pretty much all of his flies so I find myself putting squirrel or other scruffy fur collars on lots of my flies as a nod to them. I like it I a split thread. More movement, more air bubbles....that's always a good thing.

I keep looking at this fly and am in awe each time. Tremendous design. Put together so very thoughtfully, not to mention the superb tying.

Dear T-12,
This pattern is so cool! I am drawn in to the snowshoe hare wing obviously and then, like Ron and the others, I noticed the exquisitely tied and applied Pine Squirrel collar which is playing second fiddle to the hugely attractive wing but no less beautiful in its finery and function! You have obviously thought out each and every ingredient and their careful placement and produced an epic looking pattern! Very well done! Are we witnessing the next classic pattern like the Trude or Adams? Time will tell and so will the trout!
Keep them coming friend!
