Wanted to get a more prominent speckled wing, so I used guinea instead of partridge.

hook - Dai Riki 305 #14
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
tail - grizzly hackle fibers
abdomen - goose biot
underwing/wingpad - CDC dark dun
thorax - hare's ear dubbing
overwing - guinea

Extraordinary! Brilliant choice of materials. Well done.

Could you post a picture of the goose feather? I'd like to see the coloration, to see how you got the dark bands on the abdomen.

Ray,

Thanks. It's just a wild goose (Canada) primary I found while taking a walk the other day; biots have a well-defined edge

A very impressive tie indeed.

Nice one, Scott. I do like all the contrast in this entire pattern. I don't think I've ever encountered a Callibeatis hatch, but I hope to. This looks like a nice match.

Beautiful emerger, Scott. Brilliant idea. The guinea hen really does resemble calibaetis wings. Just the kind of creative tie I'd hoped to see here.

Incredible Scott. Good choice on the guinea fibers for the wing.
