Old NZ wet. Otamita

Early NZ: Otamita. Very cool looking little wet. Decades old and not seen much these day which sadly is a malady that many old wee wets suffer down here..

Bronze Mallard tail, black goose wing quill body, grouse hackle and a spur winged plover wing.. sizes 10 to 18.

What a handsome pattern. I really like the color scheme and the overall construction of the fly.

Thank you for preserving the history of these patterns. Great post, on many levels. ;)

Dana, I second that, a nice swap indeed. I don’t know about finding any Spur Winged Plover ( I never heard of it) but a swap could be along the lines of forgotten patterns.
Barry
Edit. I just looked it up, in the words of Monty Python “loverly plumage”
Love both fly fishing and fly tying, been doing it for a while
But not much good at either
