From the Practical Angler by W. C. Stewart the Woodcock Spider.

Hook. Daiichi 1480 size 12.
Silk. Pearsalls Gossamer yellow.
Body. Yellow silk.
Wing.Woodcock primary.
Hackle. Furnace hen.

I like that a lot. Might well tie a couple and take them down the Clyde where they will feel very much at home.

Helllo folks, thanks for your welcomes.
I will not be known on here. I live in Scotland and use "Bobfly " since I usually fish two flies on the cast on hill lochs and most of the wild browns come to the bobfly!
I usually use soft hackled flies and/or dries.
