That's a lovely fly, Alan. Great color combination and choice of materials. In the water that hackle will move like a hula dancers hips. Nicely done.

Here's a couple that I've been throwing with my Echo 3 weight switch rod.

REE,

That first one is similar to the Irish may fly. They are used quite heavily in the lakes of Ireland.
The second one is a good choice not only for salmonids but I can see the bass family eating it.
What is the body of the tandem.

Alan, It's tied on a shank with a single stinger hook, Intruder style. The body has a dubbing ball of UV Ice Dub in Shrimp Pink at the rear to keep the rear Pheasant hackle kicked out. The body is UV Ice Dub in Light Green followed by another Pheasant hackle.

With the Smallies moving into the rivers as the water temps go up, I tied this with that in mind. It might entice a Land Lock Salmon, or maybe a Brown, but with the legs, I figured a Smallie would hammer it as well.

Good catch on the first one. My internet friend, John Moore from Ireland got me started tying the Lough Mayflies. A very effective style here on lakes as well. I added the palmered body hackle as sort of an homage to that style. Hopefully it will bring me a Land Lock this season.

The talent running loose in this place is just silly.
