Fellow flympher Dana "Theroe" Reed has secured permission to post the following You-tube video of how Ted Neimeyer produced his beautiful stripped duck quills for wrapping fly bodies. This clip was put together by Aaron Ostoj of AT Feathers and he gave Dana permission to use it.

Don't know for sure where this method of quill manufacturing started or by who but Walt Dette showed me this method years ago and Ralph Graves also used it for years.

Thanks, Guys. You helped me meet my goal of learning one new thing every day. Things were looking pretty bleak until you posted that video.

Well that was neat. I've never seen that before. I've got a pile of feathers that I can practice on. I love this 'learning' thing; more knowledge, more knowledge!

Thanks Dana. It also makes me want to go back and read every post that Bill made.
