Hen hackle color names

Post by ForumGhillie » Sat Jan 04, 2020 10:02 am

What dolors would you call these three hen capes?

The "light cree" and "cree" hen capes came from the UK and were labeled as such. The Barred Ginger hen cape is a Keough hen cape. I like all three hen capes. At times when searching the web for capes to buy I find it difficult finding exactly what I want unless I try searching using various cape color names, or I luckily stumble on a cape color I want on eBay or some fly shop's website.

The two cree hen capes I really like using, but I personally would not call them cree. I am glad I stumbled upon them a year ago while on a UK fly shop's website.

To me, all three are cree. Light, medium and dark.

Yeah, not cree.
All are variants.

For description purposes.

Barred Honey Dun. - I would be happy to take off your hands.
Grizzly and ginger variant
I'm OK with a dark barred ginger
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Agreed. I'd just call them variant necks.

Haha, no, but I don't need any. Thanks though. I have been looking for a nice honey dun hen cape though if you come across one.
