I found these waxes listed on the Dakota Angler website and could not resist adding them to my collection of tying wax.

How well do they work?

Not sure yet Bill. The cobblers wax softens up nicely when you hold it in your hand, and the edges get kinda tacky. The yellow disk wax seems quite firm, even when warmed up. Time and tying, will tell how useful these are. The cobbler wax (disk) will probably get the most use. The skull seems like it would be a fun one to have during the kids tying event.

The cobbler waxes each came with a small piece of naugahyde. Not sure if this is for handling the wax, or burnishing the thread after applying the wax. Probably just to keep the wax off your fingers, when handling it.

They probably got the skull wax idea from Barry Ord Clarke. I traded him some of my wax for one of his skull waxes years ago.

I used to question if I needed tying wax. Then I ordered some and now I don't question it at all. It certainly does help grip the material and it helps my tying, especially with my patience.

Well done in finding those.
