REE, Donald musta hipped you round the same time he did me. He actually went out and bought me a copy and sent it to me. Great little book. You can see most (somehow gathered maybe 30 more since these pics were taken), of our fly fishing/fly tying books here.....scroll down when you get there, to bout the middle of the page. http://www.pureartflytying.ning.com/profile/misako
Boy Ray, you sure are right about books being addictive.......i have one book that cost me $600.......one of the 4 Ken Swada books.....we have all 4 of his, all signed. Plus his two VHS videos signed, and a Spey fly of his in a signed card. Have you ever been to his site? If not, go there.....you'll be glad you did. http://www.kensawada.com Misa has been to his shop in Tokyo 2 or 3 times and always brings back some really cool materials. Certain things you can't get here, like Condor Marabou.....the dye jobs are incredable. i'll send you a couple of his hooks.....nothin' that special actually, just an eyed Salmon hook, but you'll have them for your collection. When you get to his site.....make SURE you check out the flies from the different contest he runs, etc. i guess his International Salmon Fly Tying Championship is prolly the most prestigeous of them all.....all i care about is seeing the flies these guys tye........UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's been running this thing for a long time.........man, you gotta check it out........he's also a classical guitar player........and he fishes for Salmon all over the world.........hell he outta be the Emporer by now.....
Some time i'll tell you bout the two times (on the same tour) i stayed in the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo.....it's right across the street from the Imperial Palace............what a TRIP! ;)

Mark - I have two of Sawada-san's books and I have visited his web site on a number of occasions. I received his tube flies book as an anniversary gift one year, and his wet fly book was an impulse buy (just had to have it when I saw it). Sawada-san does some amazing flies! I envy his gift with color combinations, not to mention his tying materials. Carl (Old hat) was very kind and sent me some Sawada hooks for hosting one of the IBF fly swaps. Beautiful irons.

Fly fishing fly tying books preferably older ones or on that time frame are a real addiction for me. The really hard part is my lust is greater than my income!
