Awhile back, I bought 3 or 4 of some small Wheatley swing leaf fly boxes that I really love. If I recall, they are approximately 4" tall and 3" wide, with a swing leaf between the two ends. Very lightweight and they hold mucho flies!

A while back someone here mentioned those boxes and I picked up a couple. Really nice boxes that should last several lifetimes.

Only saw those boxes in magazines as a kid, I sold night crawlers to support my flyfishing needs.
The Perrine boxes were in my price range...

Amusing story in the Fall 2025 issue of the American Fly Fisher (publication of the American Museum of Fly Fishing):
Wheatley was bought out by REC Components in Connecticut. REC had all the Wheatley metal press machines for stamping the aluminum shipped over, but...
“the manual operation of the fly presses was assisted by the counterweighting of British cannonballs to make rotation easier. Sadly, the cannonballs had to be left behind due to red-tape complexities concerning the export of “military equipment.”
