Color # 61- Apricot is spot on to my original color selection. Do not go by what it looks like on screen. It is a creamy orange. This silk is very nice.

Otherwise-use whatever works for you.

It is so hard to try and figure out color on computer screens to tie flies. You either have to see a fly in person or get the material. Thanks for the link.

I used the #722 embroidery thread you specified. As Carl notes, the colors don't always come through on a computer, especially when someone as unskilled as I am is wielding the camera.

The 722 embroidery thread works, even though it's cotton, not silk. I used it for many years till I discovered sources for silk in the proper color.

How does the thickness of the #50 silk compare to pearsall's gossamer? Would a thinner #100 weight be better?

It is heavier than Gossamer. They did have a thread that was very close to gossamer in heaviness, but I don't recall which one it was.
