20" brown on a BWO soft hackle today .

Post by Pat M » Sun Feb 22, 2009 10:44 pm

This Brown took a size 14 BWO soft hackle on the swing and ran like a freight train.
Got into another one that was about 18" on the exact same pattern and technique. My buddy
and I landed roughly 20 fish today.

Wow what a beautiful fish , Large head looks like a male, I suppose the brown are finished spawning in your area.

If you get a chance please post the fly

John, as soon as I get a chance to get a photo of it I will. Yes the Browns are finished spawning they have been since
late November. A lot of fish were looking up today and I think the cloud cover played to our advantage. Yes you are
correct it was a nice male. ;)

OH YES! Those blue winged olives-they do love'em. Gorgeous brown! Where the heck are you, Pat--Alaska?

Yes! Nice catch Pat! Wish I was there. There is a lot of snow up there, it is out in the boon docks though. Gotta love a BWO hatch in Feb, seem to be out early this year.

I can't believe that car made it as far as it did.

Sorry I have been a bit vacant lately folks.. been very busy with work getting a big project done. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but not there yet. Nice work setting this up Mark. It looks great. I like the color scheme too.
