Hendrickson Soft Hackles

Post by ForumGhillie » Tue May 07, 2019 7:39 am

So far for me the most productive fly pattern has been the Hendrickson soft hackle during the hatch.

Partridge fibers to tail, Bailey's wax, Hare's mask dyed rust for body, copper wire ribbing and a golden plover wing.

Question: Who else fishes a soft hackle / flymph pattern during the Hendrickson hatch? If "yes", can you post it?

Nicely dressed fly. Seems as how the best judge deems them excellent too.

That is a great soft hackle pattern. I will copy it and if anyone asks me about it, I will certainly give you all the credit. Thanks for posting the picture and materials. That Brown trout looks like a "fall trout" with rich, bright colors--just beautiful!

Ken, no need to give me credit. I am sure I am not the first person to tie a soft hackle pattern like this. The trout sure like it, which is not often in my past years I used a soft hackle during the Hendrickson hatch. The pattern made me a believer in it for this hatch.

Beautiful fly and fish. Thanks for posting.
