Not sure what size thread that you have. Most of these threads fall in the 3/0 range or size c. Great for making thread bodies, not so great for tying because of the thickness. I have many of these spools and some are from the late 1800's and early 1900's that are still in great condition. Richardsons thread was part of the Corticelli thread umbrella. I'm fairly certain that Corticelli bought out the initial Richardson company, as well as the Belding company.
Silk thread came in various sizes a, b, c, d, e, f the further away from a the thicker the thread. D is the same size as Buttonhole Twist.
