This is a recent tie that I used right before the weather turned bad with good success on a local tailwater. I was swinging this fly with my 3 wt microspey rod.

Hook: #16 Mustad
Tail: Partridge
Ribbing: Crimson silk
Body: Natural hare's ear dubbing rope
Hackle: Partridge

Very buggy looking. I am sure your pattern would be successful internationally. Well done.

Very nice fly. Am I correct in assuming you used the tag end of your tying silk as the rib?

Ron,

Yes, I used the original tag end of the thread base for the rib. A last moment idea.

Trout cannot resist flies tied with natural hare's ear dubbing.

John
I am going to have to tie up some patterns with this dubbing you speak of.

;)
