In this version, you make a tag with the wire before using it to rib the peacock body. Known as the Green-butt Caddis. A popular and productive pattern on Arkansas' White River during the March-April Caddis hatch. I hope to travel there this year (if the water release from the dam supports it) and remind the fish how much they like it!

Those look really good and I like seeing all the variations to the peacock and partridge. Thanks for sharing these flies and hopefully you can make it to Arkansas this year!

Ken,

What make/model/size hook did you use? (So I can plagiarize your work  ;) :D )

I was starting at your flies and got lost in thought, imagining being in Arkansas fishing the White River…

Please make a few drifts for me when you go…

Beautiful flies my friend.

Ray,

These are tied on an Orvis Czech Nymph Hook (Tactical Barbless Hooks) in Size 14. Item # is: 1POR. A similar hook is: Wholesale Fly Company, Model 28 (Czech Nymph/Caddis BL), but those seem a bit smaller so order up 1 size.

I normally tie these on a Partridge "Yorkshire Caddis Hook" (Code K2B) in Size 12.

Hoping to make the 6-hour drive over to Arkansas at the end of March and combine some fishing with some time attending the Sowbug Roundup (Fly Tying Show).

Thanks for the detailed answer Ken. Nice to have options.
