Walmart Softhackles

Post by DUBBN » Sun Jan 07, 2024 9:45 pm

While making some light Orange dubbing for some off beat softhackles, I decided to add some red and make a Walmart type Tups dubbing.

The Dark Cream hackle was already out, so what the heck.

Love these bugs. Very nicely done, Wayne. Your talent behind the vise just amazes me.

Really nice flies, nice work. But I really love that neck you have in the photograph it has beautiful, ginger, spade hackles!

Where did you pick that one up? It’s a real beauty!

Thank you for the kind words. I bought the hen cape from Charlies Flybox in Arvada, Colorado a few years ago. It is a Metz grade 2, dark cream. I have had some great success on the water with this color. I am going to be very stingy with it until I can find a similar cape.

I have an old Darbee Dun very similar to that!
Got it from Elsie shortly before she passed away.
Dana has one of Harrys chicken skins too thats close.
Mine is getting sparce but I'll pluck every feather until it's gone.
Twist up your bugs Wayne and use that cape.
I see you as a fisher, not a collector. 8-)
