Material Supplier !!
Hi All,
This is my first post - a friend suggested I sign on the forum to gain knowledge on North Country Spider Flies and various wets. Can anyone help me with a supplier of hackles for the wet flies and pearsalls silk. My friend suggested getting some Brahma Hen Capes. Also on such flies as the Waterhen Bloa and Snipe and Purple do I need full skins or just the wings for hackle? Any help greatly appreciated.
Well these are my first questions and I hope to read thru previous posts for more information..
Thanks Much,
MuddlerDaddy
(I live in the midwest and Fly Fish for Largemouth Bass, BlueGill and Crappie. For trout fishing I have to travel 3 1/2 hours to my favorite streams. I love trout fishing and when I go I normally stay 3 or 4 days. I want to try the Spiders next spring. I have been fly fishing and tying for over twenty years and will be tying a lot more now that I have retired.)

Re: Material Supplier !!
Here are a few suppliers that can supply what you need:
http://www.jimsflyco.com/pages/contact_us.html (Sponsor of this site - I suggest calling him directly and asking for the specific items. He has many of the soft hackle materials, but they are not listed on his public website.)
http://www.cookshill-flytying.co.uk/ (These guys provide most of the traditional gamebird skins sold by dealers on this side of the pond).

http://www.blue-ribbon-flies.com/shop/c ... materials/
Welcome aboard! I look forward to seeing your participation in this forum.

It sure is Ray ! I had the pleasure of fishing with Davy Wotton for a day with wet flies (team of 3). One of the three was almost always the "MuddlerDaddy".

Re: Material Supplier !!
MuddlerDaddy,
One supplier I've used in the past has been Mike Hogue at http://www.eflytyer.com/ . I usually just click on the new stuff button to find the wingless wet fly stuff. He does have a large selection of materials, prices are pretty fair and the service is excellent.
