Hi Mike,
I do not have the time to digest all of the links and come to a conclusion. Perhaps you can lead me to the right path. What are the differences between Polarized light and UV light? Do insects have Polarized qualities like they do with UV ?

Interesting topic, Mike. I've dealt with this topic in a work setting over the years while dealing with commercial photography. Polarizing filters were always fascinating to work with. If you ever do start experimenting again, I'd be interested to see some results on Polar Bear hair. The way light plays off of it is amazing and without any scientific basis for the conclusion, I'm betting it has something to do with the way it reacts to polaris(z)ed light.

Thanks for taking the time to post this.

Best,
Bruce C
