Re: Hackle pliers..... whatcha using?
Mmmmm, mine were the $3-4 bucks a piece models....... but at least they have finally arrived! I must admit I did get a nice email to say "sorry your order seemed to have slipped through the cracks and we missed it, rest assured the problem has been sorted and items are on their way."
Might have got myself some of those fly holders for photography, not that impressed..... but have not given them too much of a work-out.
Seem to be much the same as the ones I threw away, sharp on the edges and if you hold your tongue the wrong way whilst using then they sever a stem like a razor blade.
I might have to start tying by the tip more often and just hold the stem in my fingers to wrap.

Please pm me, or post the name of the seller. I can't get any right now, but in the future I want some more. The brand I mentioned was very good, and sturdy. Much better than the Radio Shack ones.lykos33 wrote:80 of them for $17.00 (I think) on flea bay...beats 3-4 bucks a piece....
Great for photographing a swarm or fleet of flies...

Suggestions on how to get the little black nib back onto the rotary pliers? Mine had fallen off and disappeared!!! Is there a substitution for the black nibs?

Ariel - Yes. You can use bleach shrink tubing, from the electrical section of any hardware store. Another option may be the tiny rubber rings that dentists use for kids braces. The next time you visit your dentist, ask them if they will give you a few. They may also have some cool colors.
