Hans,
It really makes me feel GREAT to see this fly created on your vise. This is very special for me. Thank-you.

Hans,

As always, a fantastic video and tutorial.

Mark,

Our Genesee River trout would be on that fly like a duck on a junebug!

Very nice!

Best,

Tim

Lovely variation, Hans. I like the look of the segmented body. That's a lovely hackle. The color harmonizes well with the body.

Just so everyone knows, here is the original, tied by me, photo by Hans some time back. Again, Hans, it's like a shot in the arm of good medicine to see you tie this. Thanks again!

Hans and Mark,
Embroidery floss comes in cotton, silk, wool, and blends.
What do you recommend?

Lance,
I've used the cotton (as pictured in the original), but prefer silk if I can get it. Nothing like silk for shine and translucency. :D

Lance, I used the Merino wool/Silk blend you sent me on a card 8-)

I tied up a couple using untwisted yarn, but without a butted end and/or a ribbing this is guaranteed to slide and loosen in use. For the video, and for my own fishing, my preference is the 'corded' abdomen.

Cheers,
Hans W
