Flymph's for Atlantic Salmon

Post by raven4ns » Sun Jan 25, 2015 2:46 pm

Last year I got a small hen on a #12 Wooly Worm and I have hooked other salmon on other Trout Flies which is all I tie. It never occurred to me that salmon would hit flymphs as I only thought of them as trout flies even though many trout flies can double for salmon flies. I noticed in RK's profile he responded to a forum called Steelhead and Salmon when I finally twigged about flymph's and salmon.
When I looked into the forum I noticed OH (Carl) had contributed to the forum as well. However, the pictures seemed to be deleted and I was wondering if there was a spot that showed salmon flymphs as well as the recipe? I have no desire to tie salmon flies but I would certainly tie some of the simpler patterns on trout hooks. Thank you.
All the best,

Tim

Does no one use flymphs for salmon fishing? All I'm looking for are some patterns that are known to work well with Atlantic salmon. Thank you.

I don't think too many people on this forum are very experienced fishing for Atlantics.

I have taken some very nice landlockeds on soft hackles, but I'm not sure that helps very much.

Sweet looking menu selections for your average Salmon. Nice set Carl.

Now, where is that guy that hangs out here sometimes and his "Electric Soft Hackle"? ;)
Might be aimed at Steelhead.... but should not be snubbed by Salmon?

Yes Letumgo and Roadkill should have a few.
