It started snowing at lunch and the shut down the university, so I came home and tied a quick fly. I was just thinking of summer fishing on the SOHO. Sorry for the bad picture, I took it with my cell phone.

Otto - It brought a huge smile to my face, when I saw your post and photograph. It is so nice to see you back at the vice! Great fly, by the way. I hope you will be posting more in the near future.

PS - what kind of vice is that? I do not recognize the shape of the jaws. The texture of the jaws looks like Damascus steel. Is it?

Thanks and it is nice to start posting again. The vise is a Damaseal vise, my fried Faruk made it for me and I just started tying on it a few days ago.

I just notice the vice jaw is on the right. Are you a left handed tyer?

Looks good Otto! I have to say I'm more taken by that vise than the fly though, that thing is just killer!

Hope to see more from you :).

The vise is a functional work of art, but a bit pricy for most of us. I was attracted to the Ekich bobbins as soon as I heard about them. There is a small learning curve involving getting used to releasing the tension before cutting the thread, or when the spring has fully extended, but once you get it, they are great. We just need to talk him into a version for the Pearsalls spools...

Here you go, it works well for me but it takes a little practice to use his automatic bobbins
