Hi Everyone
On fresh water flies I just use wax on about the last two inches of silk. On salt flies I use a product called Hard as Hull.

I've been using Minwax Polycrylic for most applications as it has no smell, is water based and not much shine, more of a natural look. For heads with more gloss I use salleys.

Head cement has been kind of an interest of mine for a good while. I have all kinds. I prefer Pro Lak on most of my flies but also use Fly Tite sometimes.
I did a bit of casual research a couple of years ago on head cements. Might check this out:

Most of mine are waxed thread with a whip finish. But for donations, swaps, etc. I'll use just a dab of griffith's thin.
