Midge

A great place to discuss various patterns and tying methods for wingless wet flies, Yorkshire spiders, Flymphs and other patterns tied with soft hackles.

Ray,

Those quills are dyed by a friend of mine and I believe he uses Rit dye. The photo I took is not the best photo but the quill is deep blue in color.

Nice looking fly and great job with the hackle. Is the effect more of a purple or blue overall?

Thanks, the purple and starling is one my favorite patterns for the early little black caddis and this looks like an excellent pattern for it. Do you know which RIT dye is used?

Howdy All;

Me being me recognized the word 'Azul' from it's usage where I live.
Someone has a generous sense of humor to whit ...

Pair that with the word 'jeans' and "Azul jean" translates into 1, 2, 3 :lol: , :lol: .
