I thought I would try again to post some pictures. This is a soft hackle sulphur pattern that my friend calls Middle Earth. Tied on a #17, body is orange silk with copper wire that is dubbed with hare's ear, partridge hackle and of course orange silk. Hopefully the pictures will appear. I have good luck with the fly during the sulphur hatch and use primrose and gold wire when the sulphurs are lighter in color.

Wow that’s a beauty. I use one very similar.......What type of hook is that in number 17?

The hook is a Paxipa hook and are made in Japan. A friend of mine got them for me a few years ago when he visited Japan. Unfortunately, I don't have many left and have not been able to find them.

Thanks for sending me the site and I have looked on there before but cannot find the hooks I have on their site. They came in a small plastic cylinder and have a Paxipa sticker on the side.

I suppose Paxipa is just a brand name and the manufacturer is probably well known under another name. Maruto Dohitomi manufactures hooks for a lot of brands, but also sells hooks under their own brand. It sucks when a favourite hook isn't replaceable.....but you can enjoy the hunt for something as good or better.
I scored 500 hooks branded Kamatsu B980 on German eBay. They are now known under the name Kamasan B980 or Daiichi 1640. I'm pretty sure they are manufactured by Maruto Dohitomi. Good hooks, as you know.
