I obtained a Golden Plover wing last year from a guy on the Bamboo Forum. He had a supply of wings from birds that died in a storm. He offered to mail them out in exchange for some flies tied with them. I said sure before his supply ran out. I thought it was a great opportunity to use a new material. I read somewhere that material dealers have waiting lists of people who want Golden Plover skins. He liked the flies I sent; hopefully, the trout did too.
Now, I'm tying some for myself.

Sure do loves me that plover stuff. BTW, the body on your fly is really nice as well.

Very nice. I'd fish that with confidence.

That looks great and you can never go wrong with a HE & Plover. Plover is certainly special not just in appearance but general texture and softness.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

You had me at plover...
Wonderful pattern Ken. I really like the proportions, body dubbing and hackle density. Perfection.
The trout are bound to respond very favorably too, no doubt about it!
