Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with Saber hooks? Price seems good.

I have been using Saber hooks for about 8 years now. I consider them a good buy and good hooks. Quality is fine and they are unbreakable. Of course I don’t catch huge fish, but never had one fail me.

I have heard or seen saber hooks somewhere. There are a lot of hooks available today. Hard to make a decision and settle on a particular brand or style anymore.

Cark- I agree, lots of hooks available these days, and most are pretty good. Saw some "swimmy" hooks in the right sizes for $6.95/100. Not a bad price.

Rodger, I think these were the "Swimmy" hooks you referred to. I believe that I received them from my sister and her daughters a year ago for a birthday or Christmas present. I haven't tried them on the water yet , but they seem to be nice enough. Not a heavy hook, so they should ride in the film nicely.

Looks like them, Dave. When I first got them, thought they were a little light, but have tied on them, and they seem to be ok. Bright finish. I agree; they should ride in the film fine.

HI, I'm new to Flymphfourm, my name is Ed I live in east central Pa Schuylkill County to be exact, I tie flys and fish for trout, and naturally I'm always looking for new patterns .
Now about Saber Hooks, I use to use Mustad hooks, then I switched to Daiichi hooks, a buddy of mine use to sell them for $9.00 a hundred, the bad news he retired after 30+ years, so I checked on line for them when I saw the prices they wanted I started looking for a replacement.
When I found Saber hooks for $7.00 I though they cant be any good, but I'm open minded and tried then, after my first fishing trip with them I was sold, I've been using them ever since, yea sure you find one bad one in a box of 100 but you'll find a bad one or two in any brand hooks.
