I really like the coloring of English Grouse and Woodcock. A couple years back, I decided to use some of these hackles with different dubbings. My apologies if I've posted these before. Memory not as good as it used to be!

Out of all the game bird hackles available, Woodcock and Red Moor Grouse are my absolute favorites. Their color and softness are striking in the water.

Beautiful. Woodcock is a favorite of mine too. I don't know enough about the bird to know if supply is dwindling or stable.

Those are excellent looking flies. I like the woodcock look, and I think it works well for most flies.

Bob - I am quite fond of your style: you have perfected the scraggly/buggy look, reminiscent of Polly Roseboro and Fran Betters. This is not easy to achieve, as most of us strive towards our own view of perfection.
