The ones I’ve seen are more white and cream colored with brown backs,
Whereas the brown owls have striated plumage all around.

In terms of color, bobwhite quail feathers work well. The softness of owl is hard to match

Ah well, I’ve had a break from fly tying for a while and I’m planning to tie some older patterns for myself to put in a shadow box but it seems every one I want to tie uses a rare or banned material!
