Isonychia Soft Hackle
Hook - Fulling Mills / Model 35005 Heavyweight Champ Barbless Black Nickel Wet / Size 12
Thread - Pearsall's Gossamer Silk (Claret)
Hackle - Hungarian Partridge (Dyed Brown)
Thorax - Four or Five Strands of Peacock Herl (Natural)
Body - Dubbing Blend (Multiple Colors of Dyed Seal and Wool-Ease Yarn) - Resulting blend is roughly claret color
Tail - Ringneck Pheasant Rump (rich golden brown feathers from near base of tail)

These are the flies I tied for the on-going swap that Carl is hosting. Hopefully you guys like them.

I bought this dyed partridge skin years ago and don't remember ever tying with it before. What was I thinking? The brown hackle is beautiful, very similar to red grouse (much harder to obtain). I love this color combination. The claret silk and seal blend body goes so well with the peacock herl and brown hackle.

Nice looking fly. I want to tie some different Isonychia patterns and since they mostly hatch on rocks instead of open water your pattern should work well. Thanks.
