Starling & Purple (Warning: It has a Bead)!

I tied this today after seeing it during John Shaner's presentation on North Country Spiders. He said he likes to fish it as a dropper in a dry/dropper set-up! Yes, it breaks tradition by having a bead!

Starling & Purple
Hook: Daiichi 1640 - size 12 (2XS)
Body: Pearsall's Gossamer (Purple #8)
Thorax: Mole fur
Hackle: Starling
Bead: Glass - Tyers Beads Midge (Iridescent Grey)

Love it with the glass bead. i don't think they look out of place on a soft hackle.

Hi. The glass bead Is interesting. Does it mimic an air bubble or does it serve some other purpose?

It could be the air bubble, In my thoughts it's that "bright-n-shiny bauble" that most curious critters
on God's green/blue earth are always drawn to ...
