Post by NightWatchman » Wed Apr 14, 2021 11:15 pm

Hook. ....... Gaelic supreme. Sz 16
Thread. ...... Pearsall’s gossamer blue
Body. ...... Underfur of a black dog(Denver)& water rat (name unk) blended
Hackle. ...... wing covert of a Jack Snipe

“The black and blae with March comes in,
Dubb’d with the fur of black dog’s skin,
And water rat’s blae down;
For wings snipe hackles far excel,
Blue silk it’s rib mimic well,
From some fair damsel’s gown.”

Very nice, nightwatchman....Any chance you can pose a close-up photo on a different colored background?

Great looking fly. I find under fur from a dig works very well.
