Small Size Flymphs

So I'm curious, how small do you tie flymphs? I'm going to attempt #18 and #20 Baetis. Would you do a regular flymph body with twisted silk or just a simple dubbed body. Just wondering what others do. Thanks.

I use size 24 on occasions. Thread body, then hackle.

What I was thinking. Flies that small just stay simple.

You are and always have been my hero from afar! Size 24! Wow! This must call for a visit from 7x and even 8x tippet I presume and a slightly stretched out leader of trouty proportions! Awesome! I can't seem to venture outside the size 16 and 6x and occasionally 7x tippet barrier! Doug, this is a great thread topic and is sure to capture a few more responses! Please keep them coming! Very interesting stuff!

That's fantastic. I have a question, how many wraps on the thorax area? It looks like peacock herl, am I correct?

Size 24
Thread Nano Silk 18/0, Brick Beige
Tail, CDL
Thorax, Mole
Hackle, Dark Gray Dun, hen
Size 24 is as small as I will tie. I do not have a need for smaller hooks.

Hey, thanks for the responses. Great looking flies too. I used to fish 22s and 24s for midges and Tricos but I'm getting older. lol It would take me a while to tie them I think. Even more fishing them. I started fishing little mountain streams for wild brookies and browns some years ago and 18 was about the smallest I ever go. A couple times I've ran into a little mayfly that made a 22 look big. Fish were eating them too. Not real selective though.
Baetis can be a tough hatch for me. Fish appear to be rising but I think it's really feeding just under the surface. Hatching nymphs? That's why I was thinking of a flymph.
