Partridge and Roy 1110

I was playing with some dubbing blends trying to get that unique Roy Christie look.

Sorry William, but you've failed miserably on this challenge. You've tied it the wrong way up and back-to-front.
Seriously though, spot on. The profile, dubbing blend and proportions are very akin to Roys. 8-)

Dennis, you're absolutely right about a RC fly, style wise. I was just playing with a dubbing blend. I had this hook stuck on my station and the dubbing blend in hand. That's about as far as the design process went. Which is usually about my speed. It's the kind of fly I would expect to just produce in the film regardless of what is going on.

better?

William,

Nice dubbing blend, very Roy-like. I had a nice discussion today with a guy who specializes in tying flies for spring creeks. He hand blends his dubbing using at least 6 colors for each fly. His thoughts are that the presence of many colors means life, only dead things are one color. No matter what the reason, I like yours very much.

I'm with Hank on this. What's up with the missing photo, William?

It was this fly, but I couldn't edit the original post. This is how the fly was originally tied. The one I tied upside down looks better to me, but I think they will both work out okay. (stupid grin).

Another masterpiece Billy Boy! I love the spectrumized dubbing blend. Beautiful. Care to share the recipe?
